It was not feasible to sit in the classroom again, but luckily there are some good books available on Kindle. “Differential Equations with Boundary-Value Problems” gives excellent explanations and examples for the techniques required to write and solve DE problems. This book is particularly good because it includes more solutions steps in the examples than many textbooks. There are plenty of examples included in each topic. Enough so that it was probably the closest you can come to getting the information from sitting in class. Each chapter has lots of example problems, which cover a wide range of topics.
While there are example problems worked throughout the text as a means of explaining a process. There isn’t enough information in the topics to be able to work all of the end of chapter problems. There are very few answers at the end of the book. A solutions manual seems to be available, but that will require additional expense.

Warren S. Wright received his M.A. in mathematics from the University of Southern California and is currently professor of mathematics at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
